Research boundary
This article explains concepts, interfaces, governance, and public research questions. It intentionally excludes private implementation details, personal information, operational secrets, and security-sensitive mechanisms. Organism language is architectural metaphor.
Reasoning as orchestration
At system scale, reasoning is better understood as orchestration among cognitive operations: classification, retrieval planning, numerical analysis, domain inference, tool selection, risk assessment, and synthesis.
The Brain may use one model, several specialized models, deterministic algorithms, external solvers, or combinations of them. What matters is that it preserves authority boundaries and integrates results into a coherent next step.
Planning under uncertainty
A governed Brain Layer should represent uncertainty rather than hide it. It should distinguish known facts from retrieved evidence, inferred conclusions, assumptions, and unresolved questions.
A low-confidence classification may trigger additional retrieval. Conflicting evidence may require another source. A high-impact action may require a higher confidence threshold than a reversible draft.
Risk-aware coordination
The Brain and Immune layers should communicate before execution. A governed planner may choose a preview before applying a change, a branch before changing primary state, or a human checkpoint before external communication.
